Arise with Oliyide Ayotunde : The Beginning – @OliyideAyotunde

Wow! The so long awaited day has come. Welcome to this new segment of the Peeps and Glances where we hope to help you study your bible even when time may not permit you to personally have a study.

We are committed to ensuring your adept understanding of the word of God and to ensure that you always have your day filled with God’s blessing.

The Beginning
The Beginning

We start right from the beginning where bible records that “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Everything in life begins with God, in God and by God. All we ever want to be, do or live for must also take cue from that. All began in God and all must end in God. All began with God and so all must end with God. And lastly, we must know that all was began by God and all will be ended by God.

We all as individuals began in God, hence we are enjoined to start our day in God. There is nothing that should be done outside of God. All must be submitted in God.

The very next verse in Genesis shows us a model of life that is not inherent in God or a life devoid of the presence of God.

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

Any life that lacks God is bound to have these three symptoms and syndrome. It might not be immediately seen or noticed, but it is usually inherent in a life that lacks the presence of God.

1. A life without form.
This simply means that any life, endeavor, career etc not started in God or is devoid of God’s presence will be without form. This means such a life with not have proper direction and may lack focus. So to say of many who pursue life without God in focus, they are neither here nor there. They live a life that lacks form.

2. A life that is void.
To be void means to amount to nothing. Many want to be something in life forgetting that without God, one will amount to nothing. Friends, only with God can you become something. Without God, you may be big, but really, you will amount to nothing. May we not live an empty life. A void life is an empty life.

3. A life full of Darkness.
This is the most important point for us to note. Darkness denotes confusion, blindness or lack of proper sight. We live in a society where there is so much confusion. It is because.many lives lack God in perspective. When we live in, with and by God, we will live in light. We will not live in confusion. God expects us to live with proper direction.

Yet in the face of all these, God shows us a picture of how such life can be transformed for the best. “… And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”. Note that the word ‘waters’ was made mentioned denoting all manners of livelihood. Water is a source of life and a sustainer of live. Any life lacking in water will soon perish, hence the need to drink water. We see that for change to take place, the Spirit of God must move upon our waters be it music, career, business, family and so on. No wonder scripture records that “the Lord is that Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”.

And so, when God appeared on the scene, the first thing He ushered in was light. “And God said, Let there be light: And there was light.”

Before you move further in life, you may need to pray for light to shine on your path. When light comes, darkness is automatically dispelled, there will be no more confusion. Therefore, you need God in your life and truly, you need light.

Your day is blessed. Ensure that you commit your ways to the hands of God. Jesus says, “as long as I am in your world, I am the light of your life.” (My paraphrase). Don’t live another day without God. Invite Him to your life and you will see the big difference.

God bless you this week.
